Through collaboration with our trusted partners, we help to deliver programmes supporting sustainably managed UK fisheries, where fishers, scientists and management organisations collaborate to build fisheries that support both thriving coastal communities and marine ecosystems. We work to to empower and enhance the UK fishing fleet’s capability to contribute to science-based fisheries management plans, supporting fisher-led scientific research to deliver equitable and ecologically resilient fisheries.
The Company also supports a range of projects that enable innovation within the industry supporting a modern, sustainable and low-carbon fleet, supporting exemplars of good practice in the industry, enabling the upscaling and sharing of innovative practice delivering a sustainable future for the UK fishing industry.
Our Marine Fisheries programme also supports peer-to-peer knowledge exchanges, enabling fishers from across the UK to learn about the inventive responses from fishers around the world to challenges such as fishery management, bycatch and spatial conflict.
The Company also works to develop marine restoration projects in partnership with industry to support a thriving marine ecosystem.
