Fishmongers’ Hall played host to the Lyric Theatre’s star‑studded Gala Dinner and auction on 3 February, an evening that surpassed all expectations by raising an impressive £112,000 in support of the theatre’s Fund For The Future campaign.

The event brought together celebrated actors including Ciarán Hinds, Simon Callow, and Jamie Dornan, whose presence helped draw wide attention to the Lyric’s ambitious plans for The Nest — a new purpose-built space within the theatre. Once complete, The Nest will allow the Lyric’s Creative Learning Team to expand their award‑winning education and outreach programmes, welcoming even more young people from across Northern Ireland, often from the most disadvantaged communities. This expanded capacity will play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of creative talent and supporting the future of the arts in the region.

The Fishmongers’ Company is proud to support this work. In 2024, the Fishmongers’ Company’s Charitable Trust awarded the Lyric Theatre a multi‑year grant to fund bursaries for graduates of the Lyric’s Drama Studio who wish to pursue full‑time drama training in the UK or Ireland. This support helps ensure that promising young performers can continue their studies regardless of financial circumstances.

The success of the Gala Dinner reflects the strength of the Lyric’s vision and the generosity of those committed to sustaining creativity and opportunity for young people. The Fishmongers’ Company is delighted to see its partnership with the Lyric contributing to such meaningful impact.
