Founded in 2018, the innovative and life changing charity Chefs in Schools celebrates its second successful year in operation. The charity whose mission is to improve the health of children through better eating and food education and to inspire schools, has gone from strength to strength in its second year of operation.
In the past 18 months it achieved some major milestones, including training over 120 staff, transforming 25 school kitchens and feeding over 9,000 children a day.
The Fishmongers’ Company were delighted to award the charity a major three year grant back in 2018, which has made a significant impact in both 2018 and 2019 and will continue to in 2020, by improving the lives of thousands of children. Plans for 2020 include working with more schools, extending their reach outside of London, and the opening the Hackney School of Food.
