The Company’s Societies

Here’s are the Company’s current Societies, together with some brief details about each one. In future newsletters, we’ll be featuring each of them, one by one.

Fly-Fishing Society – open to all levels from beginners to advanced, there are two main full-day meetings each year, in May and October. They’re held at two different lake fisheries and include an enjoyable lunch. If you’ve never done fly-fishing before, it’s a fun way to try it out  – you might even get hooked. We have exclusive use of the fishery for the day. Always popular, it’s good to book early. We also have several smaller days for more advanced river fishing.  Secretary: Lionel Young

Golfing Society – like fly-fishing, open to all levels from beginners to advanced, there are Spring and Autumn full days each year.

Shooting – ?

Sailing – ?

Gardening – ?

Skiing – ?

These Societies are always open for new membership, and all Livery members are eligible to join.  They’re fun, relatively informal and a great way of getting to know each other.

Members of the Fly-Fishing, Golfing, Shooting and Sailing Societies are traditionally invited to a dinner in October, where trophies are presented.

Please note that all meetings are filled on a first come first served basis, so book early to avoid disappointment.
