On 22nd of September the Company marked City Giving Day 2020 with a range of activities to thank and support our charitable partners.
The day began with a charity bake sale to support Alexandra House of Joy, our staff charity, which aims to build a purpose-built home for adults with severe learning difficulties in Oxfordshire, providing respite care. All proceeds from the cakes, all of which were baked by our team of chefs, will go to support this ambition and have been generously matched by the Company. The proceeds have been combined with the money raised from tours of Hall, the Christmas raffle and card sales and that collected from the cloakroom to total £8476 to Alexandra House of Joy. If you wish to donate to their appeal you can do so here.
Continuing with the cake theme, our staff also delivered cakes to several of our charitable partners across London as a thank you for their efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Head Butler Jeff Stevelman presented a selection of cakes to the Beyond Food Foundation, Quaker Social Action, the Manna Society, Bounceback, The Listening Place and Prison Advice and Care Trust (PACT). This represents just a small token of our gratitude to all of these charities for their work in feeding London’s vulnerable and using the power of food to change people’s lives, and for providing support and guidance to help people rebuild their lives.
