‘The Listening Place (TLP) is a volunteer led organisation that provides free, confidential, on-going face-to-face support for people that feel life is no longer worth living. We offer a safe place for suicidal individuals to talk freely and confidentially to warm, non-judgemental volunteers’. An active advisory team of leading psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors supports the running of this important service.
The Fishmongers’ Company values the work of this London charity and its dedicated volunteers and is glad to lend its support through the Charitable Trust.
Thanks to the grant from The Fishmongers’ Company’s Charitable Trust, The Listening Place has had the confidence to commit to faster growth. This has enabled us to support many more people now than our original plan and to develop a longer term growth strategy for supporting suicidal people in London, and beyond.
